Continue on EtsyWhen I was in Kyoto last I saw packages at the market of silk Nishijin belts, but they really weren't usable as they were. They were magic obi belts (close with velcro) and would fit only about a 26" waist. They are gorgeous vintage fabrics though that were new so I thought I could upcycle them. I added ties to the red one made from soft silk nagajuban (under kimono) fabric and it ties closed. I have other styles (as shown and a few not shown) that I can pair with other silks. I offer options in the pictures. The belt shown can be tied as small as 30" and has 30" ties on each side so will adjust to a much larger size. If you want something smaller or larger or other color pairings let me know and we can see what I have that might suit you.
I bought this belt in Kyoto at Kobo Ichi Market at Toji Temple and bought the nagajuban fabric at the same market on my previous trip.
