Handmade Walnut Handle Furoshiki Bag Set, Magnetic Patchin with Blue Fish Crepe Cloth, Japanese Eco Tote Purse

This unique eco tote uses a vibrant vintage Japanese chirimen crepe furoshiki with custom handmade walnut handles. My husband made the handles and I paired them with a 76 cm square fabric featuring a striking blue fish motif that drapes beautifully when in the handles. The solid walnut handles feature built-in hidden magnets that snap shut with a satisfying click to keep your belongings secure. Known as a patchin handle style in Japan, this design allows you to easily untie and swap out the fabric whenever you want a fresh look. I have over 50 other furoshiki that I'll be adding to the shop as we go or you can change it out for one you already own. :) The chirimen crepe cloth has a durable, textured feel and rich indigo blue tones. Combining traditional Japanese wrapping art with American woodworking, this versatile purse makes a wonderful everyday bag or a thoughtful gift for lovers of sustainable fashion. The handle measures approximately 10 inches long and the bag portion is approximately 9 inches tall when tied as shown. We will also include an instruction sheet for other ways to tie the furoshiki without the patchin handle. I can ship it either assembled (as shown) or as a folded cloth with the handles separate. We purchased the furoshiki in Kyoto at a shop on Sango Shopping Street in the Nishijin area. My shop has lots of other Japanese items, but mostly purses.
