Kanzashi Hair Stick Japanese Kimono Silk Upcycled

I have been looking for ways to use smaller pieces of the kimono silk left over from my larger projects and I had bought a button making set in Japan so it went together well. They are 1.5" and were meant to be buttons for clothes but I thought they would make lovely hair sticks. I make traditional kanzashi flowers but with is a bit easier to work with in your hair for rearranging. The buttons can move some and I like that. I used a gold tone stick and gold tone chain with a filigree beads and two glass pearl beads. My daughter uses hair sticks all the time so she's been providing lots of insight (she has to wear two because her hair is so long- if you need a coordinating stick just let me know and I can make a second without dangles so they don't tangle). The fabric is chirimen silk from a kimono. I bought it as surplus from a vendor at Toji Market in Kyoto- a small bundle of extra fabric tied up after she had made purses with it. This is the first of this style I've made as I'm testing out new ideas so if you like the idea but want a different pattern or style, let me know. I make it from scratch so requests are no problem!
