Kimono Silk Hair Tie Buttons: Set of 4

I have been looking for ways to use smaller pieces of the kimono silk left over from my larger projects and I had bought a button making set in Japan so it went together well. They are 1.5" and were meant to be buttons but I sewed black elastic hair ties to them (if with pearle thread so it'll hold up but it also means you can see it a little- check the photo). The light purple is a rinzu silk with a geometric design from a kimono I purchased in Osaka. The dark purple is a tsumugi silk from a kimono fabric I purchased in Kyoto. The black pattern is a chirimen silk from a haori I purchased in Nara (I wanted to keep it as a jacket but it had a burn hole). The orange is a fuji silk that I bought as scrap fabric in Kyoto. Each is very different from the others and it makes a nice sampler set to see the different types of silk. This is the first of this style I've made as I'm testing out new ideas so if you like the idea but want a different pattern or style, let me know. I make it from scratch so requests are no problem!
