Silk Eyeglass Case Vintage Japanese Chirimen Kimono Silk Glasses Pouch Kiss Lock Case with Wristlet

I got the fabric in Nara at Higashimuki Shotengai. It is silk, with a junojo-mon, or pagoda and scenery pattern with a crane, made from a kimono (this particular cut was a sleeve) I lined it with a gold colored lining from a kimono, also silk. That fabric was hand dyed so the color is not consistent throughout, which added to it's charm. I love the softness and luster to it and it is a slub fabric. I used a batting inside so it holds it's shape but is soft. Silk is great for eyeglass cases as it cleans them! The silver kiss-lock closure is hand sewn on with a cream pearle. The wristlet strap and charm are removable. The charm is a handmade tassel with wooden beads. It measures 3.5" x 6.5" (to the top, about 1" less for the bag portion).
