Japanese Kimono Silk Earrings with Wood and Stone: Set of 3

In our effort to upcycle Japanese textiles, we end up with lots of lovely little pieces, often with great patterns, like these and we are committed to zero waste and these earrings are the perfect way to use those lovely pieces! I am an avid embroiderer so we had these little hoops on hand as well as the semi-precious/natural stones at the top. The hardware is all antique brass tone and I used the same 1" wood hoops but the fabric and stone used varies. The leaf pattern is from a chirimen silk kimono I bought in Kyoto that has a four season design but I used only leaves for this pair and chose Jasper stones. The middle pair is a yellow tone Ro silk and I chose a sakura pattern for one and a leaf pattern for the other. This is also from a kimono I bought in Kyoto. Each has a blue Howlite stone. The third is an orange pattern with a bit of a silver in a Fuji silk (I bought it in Osaka) and they have Tiger's Eye stones. They hang about 2.6" long.
