Japanese Kinchaku Purse Kimono Orange Obi Fabric Kyoto Drawstring

This purse is made from kimono fabric, the orange main fabric is actually a gold woven obi. The fabric is new, made from left over fabric from kimono creation. The main orange fabric has a classic four season design (shikibana): sakura for spring, leaves for autumn, chrysanthemums for summer and plums for winter. This bag has a drawstring top with a doubled cord through loops, a traditional Japanese style for wearing with a kimono. Made of silk, chirimen silk making the accents on the corners and bottom, trimmed in red. The square bottom of the bag is firm so it stands up when full. The bag measures 5.5" tall and the base is 4.5" square. The purple bag has a tag that translates to Gobangu Kenbrunroku (in Kyoto in English) and the backs says "Created by hand with Japanese sensibilities. Made by Kia." I have added a removable matching cord shoulder strap that clips on and an omamori purse charm from a shrine in Uji for good luck (I left it in it's protective plastic cover). When last in Kyoto a shop was closing not too far from Nishiki market. The person who made the purses has long retired and they were selling off what was left. I picked up several purses (more than 50 actually- oops) because the craftmanship was incredible (check out my shop if you want to see more!). The pictures don't do it justice. I brought back lots of items from Japan on my last trip (two checked bags each for free x 3 people... it was something) and I have lots more kimonos, kanzashi, obis (I have a couple of orange ones that go great with this kimono!), and purses/bags that I'll be listing as I get to them.
