Obi Silk Journal and Cover; Vintage Japanese Embroidered Notebook Sleeve Refillable Padded Book Jacket with Kimono Silk Lining

I bought this fabric as a fukuro obi in Kyoto at a market at Toji Temple. It had already been partly taken apart but she wasn't sure what to make with the larger scenes on the obi. I used the slightly smaller motif from the obi to make a tote (https://kyotokura.etsy.com/listing/4529931439/silk-obi-bag-with-gold-peony-crest) and my husband saw this motif as a journal cover. They perfectly match. :) As the design is larger, I used a B5 journal. It is replaceable. It is a good quality and has dates at the top you can circle and a ribbon bookmark. It is orange and gold, to match the cover. The book cover is entirely lined in kimono silk, which is also used for the flaps and it has batting inside making it a bit plush. The motif is of birds (tori) in a marumon crest with sakura. The orange is gorgeous and it has gold woven into the design. We had a tropical storm coming in the day I finished it so I will take more pictures in the future to add or feel free to ask me for some if I haven't added them yet.
