Kimono Silk Clutch Orange, Japanese Purse, Gold Bar Frame Kitsune Fox Charm Crossbody Bag

I love the look of this purse, a sort of everyday elegance. It measures 8" x 5" and opens about 3", surprisingly spacious for it's style. I got the fabric in Kyoto at Toji Temple Market. It is silk, with a rust orange, slightly shiny, kimono fabric (this one was an unused vintage cut) or shiki-omo, a slightly textured silk. I lined it with a gold colored lining from a kimono, also silk. That fabric was hand dyed so the color is not consistent throughout, which added to it's charm. I love the softness and luster to it. I used a very heavy interfacing so it holds it's unique shape. My husband had the idea for this bag style and I love how it came together- it is completely unique- all his own design! It uses a bar closure on the top. I added a heavy weight interfacing to the inside of the pocket and sides (to make them dart inward). The pocket is oversized and made of the exterior fabric. The strap and purse charm are removable.
