Navy Blue Silk Kimono Bag with Hand-Sewn Beads, Vintage Upcycled Japanese Purse, Kanzashi Flower Kiss Lock Clutch, Evening Bag

This clutch has such a luxurious silk fabric of navy blue circles, which look like overlapping flowers to me. I purchased the kimono I made this from in Kyoto at Toji Temple and is a navy blue color with a rinzu damask design It is lined with a white silk from the lining of another kimono. Japanese silks are so lovely! The bag is attached to the frame with hand sewn iridescent blue glass beads. I love the silver sakura handle, I think the lighter color pairs perfectly with the dark in the blue. I love how the handle stands up (although it can be folded down). It has a pocket made from the outer fabric. It has interfacing in a soft but thick fabric to give it shape but still let it be soft. It has a purse charm that is an omamori from a Japanese shrine (this particular one is for academic success). If you open it they say the blessing comes out so I sort of tied it closed to keep you safe! It has a few iridescent beads as well. The purse charm and it is removable. It measures about 9.5" x 5". I really wanted it large enough to hold a large phone (I have an iphone 15 pro so it's big!). It's a lovely bag that would be fabulous for a wedding or other formal affair. If you loaded it to a bride it would check all of the boxes of something old (the fabric), something new (the bag itself), something borrowed (if you loan it to them) and something blue!
