Akane Red Kimono Silk Clutch, Hand Beaded Gold Frame Evening Bag, Upcycled Nagajuban Purse

This clutch turned out so lovely (red is my favorite color!). The outside a floral pattern color-on-color, design with an upcycled fabric from a wedding nagajuban I bought in Kyoto. Japanese silks are so lovely! The bag is attached to the frame with hand sewn glass beads (see the fun photo of me lovingly attaching it). I love the gold sakura handle and how the handle stands up (although it can be folded down). It is lined in a white silk kimono lining fabric and has a pocket made from the outer fabric. It has interfacing in a soft but thick fabric to give it shape but still let it be soft (I added a photo of my supervisor while I'm sewing which shows the interfacing). It has a thick removable chain and tassel charm with a beaded pearl accent. It measures about 9.5" x 5". This is a lovely delicate bag, very feminine and made in the perfect colors for good luck in Japan. It would make a great bag for a Christmas party or Lunar new year!
