Japanese Purse with Kiss-Lock Arch Handle, Orange Chrysanthemum Yukata Fabric

I really enjoyed making this purse- it is really unique and so functional! It is made from upcycled yukata (summer kimono) fabric that I bought at Toji Temple in Kyoto. It has a silver kiss lock closure that has arched handles. It is lined in beige and has a pocket inside. It has a soft interfacing to give it shape without making it stiff. I braided jute for the strap and made a matching tassel with wooden beads. I live in Florida and I think it has an upscale beachy feel. I layered the fabric many times over the attachment point for durability (it will have no problem holding weight!). The strap and the charm are removable. The bag portion measures 10" x 10" and the arched handle is up about 4" higher. This purse is one of a kind! I have lots of other Japanese items and purses in my shop so check it out!
