Patchwork Japanese Knot Bag with Hand-Embroidered Sashiko Accents

I spent more time with this bag than I'd care to admit but I had fun with it. It is not perfect and it's not meant to be, very wabi-sabi with all upcycled fabrics and hand embroidered sashiko patches and denim pieces too. Visible mending and melding of the fabrics. Absolutely one of a kind because it's made of lots of fabrics that I only had that little bit of! To make this knot bag a cut above any others, it has a soft interfacing to give it some support and an interior pocket, that has specialty stitches top and bottom. It also has a D ring on the one side that has a hand-made tassel and keyring. I also added a small zig-zag stitch around the strap that gets the most wear or reinforcement. I just thought of ways to make it more practical while being a piece of art you can take with you anywhere! I added a couple of buttons for decoration also. Unlike most of the items in my shop, it is made with fabrics I found in the US but I used a Japanese design style. The actual bag part is about 14" x 10". Again, this bag isn't perfect- it wasn't meant to be. It's my artistic expression and use of leftover fabrics. I would be so happy if it found a loving home!
