Set of 5 Japanese Uji Kyoto Plates Meimeizara Collectible Art

I purchased these plates in Uji at an antique shop. I usually don't pick up breakable items (I love fabric and I worry about getting them home) but I saw these and a few other things and my rule was broken. I love the slow pace and walkability of Uji (and the tea of course). Each plate is a different scene, handpainted and a lovely crackle finish. The may be from the Asahigama kiln (it's right there) but there are no markings and no box so I don't really know. They are just shy of 5". The images (and sayings) are: Ujibashi (Uji Bridge) Ikkyu-ji Karesansui (the Zen garden at Shuon-an Temple) Chatsumi (Tea Picking) Joruri-ji Sanju-no-to (three story pagoda at Joruri-ji) Manpuku-ji Gyoban (fish drum of the Manpuku temple) They look very handmade, no defects, just the wabi-sabi effect. :) I bought back lots of items from Japan on my last trip.
