Japanese Oshima Tsumugi Silk Fabric Piece Gift Box Pattern Cloth

I love fabric and this piece is so lightweight and soft- the design is so clear on both sides that I can't tell what is front or back. It measures 44" x 15". It has a few noticeable pinholes in the fabric but overall in amazing condition. The design is created by the intersection of pre-dyed threads. This isn't a print; it's a woven masterpiece. I purchased it in a vintage shop in Kyoto. I purchased this in Kyoto at a shop on Sango Shopping Street, a new find for me, while waiting for the plum light up festival at Kitano Tenmangu shrine (and then had to store my bag of purchases!). I brought back lots of items from Japan on my last trip (two checked bags each for free x 3 people... it was something) and I have lots more kimonos, kanzashi, obis (I have a couple of orange ones that go great with this kimono!), and purses/bags that I'll be listing as I get to them.
