Japanese Tenugui Kawaii Zodiac Dragon Rabbit Dog Cotton Hand Towel New

These 100% gauzy cotton towels are nice and lightweight- and so big! They measure 33 cm x 90 cm (about 13" x 35"- almost a yard). This is really one of the most versatile items in Japan- used for so many things! The dragon towel has the tag that explains it and is a promotional item from Cafe M in Kyoto (likely given to loyal customers as a new years gift). It is bright and has so many cute designs! The rabbit towel is also a promotional item from Cafe M in Kyoto and has sakura as part of the pattern as well. The dog towel has really bright colors also and does not have the promotional portion. It has lots of great new years designs all over. I buy them for two reasons- first, I use them as my hand drying towel. In Japan everyone carries around a little hand towel as there are no cloths in the bathroom (better for the environment). These are really long so I cut it in half and my husband and I each have one. Often these towels are not hemmed on the short sides (some of these are though). Second, I often use them as fabric. They always have such cute prints and I use them to make little bags or to tie up my bento (which is one of their most common uses). They can also be folded and used as a headband (think Karate Kid). It is also used as a table runner. I bought these at Toji Temple market in Kyoto. I was buying fabric scraps to make kanzashi and these caught my eye. I intended to make wall hangings from them but thought I'd see if anyone would like them as they are before I do that!
