Japanese Bag Tote Purse Kimono Fabric Kyoto Silk Fancy Fan Crane Pattern

This purse is made from kimono fabric and uses a fancy pattern to complete the design. The fabric is new, made from left over fabric from kimono creation. This purse snaps closed and are made of silk. This purse is a patterned red silk with fans on one side and cranes on the other and red chirimen silk for the sides and handles. It is lined in beige and has a slip in pocket inside. The bag measures 5" x 5.5" x 1.5" plus the handle height. The fabric used for these is stunning. Each still has their tag, handmade using the Yuzen style in Kyoto. I have added a removable matching cord shoulder strap that clips on and a handmade purse charm of a gold tassel with a chain of glass pearl beads. When last in Kyoto a shop was closing not too far from Nishiki market. The person who made the purses has long retired and they were selling off what was left. I picked up several purses (more than 50 actually- oops) because the craftmanship was incredible (check out my shop if you want to see more!). The pictures don't do it justice. The small omikuji rabbit is not included- it contains a great good fortune from Okazaki Shrine, just north of Gion in Kyoto so I can't part with it. I like to think the luck is rubbing off onto the purse. :) I brought back lots of items from Japan on my last trip (two checked bags each for free x 3 people... it was something) and I have lots more kimonos, kanzashi, obis (I have a couple of orange ones that go great with this kimono!), and purses/bags that I'll be listing as I get to them.
