Japanese Lotus Kinchaku Purse Pink Sakura Kimono Fabric Kyoto Drawstring Shiawase Burgundy

This purse is made from kimono fabric. The fabric is new, made from left over fabric from kimono creation. This bag has a drawstring top, a traditional Japanese style for wearing with a kimono, and has Lotus style flaps on the top- so pretty. It is made with chirimen silk in a shiawase style with pieced pink sakura pattern that has silver sparkles in it and burgundy. The exact pattern may vary as no two cuts of fabric are alike. It is lined in white (or cream). The square bottom of the bag is firm so it stands up when full. The bag measures 5" x 5" x 5.5", plus 2" for the drawstring portion. I have added a removable matching shoulder strap that clips on and a purse charm of a tassel with a metal cat charm (I have a second bag with a charm that has a tassel with a sakura bead- let me know which you would prefer). When last in Kyoto a shop was closing not too far from Nishiki market. The person who made the purses has long retired and they were selling off what was left. I picked up several purses (more than 50 actually- oops) because the craftmanship was incredible (check out my shop if you want to see more!). The pictures don't do it justice. I brought back lots of items from Japan on my last trip (two checked bags each for free x 3 people... it was something) and I have lots more kimonos, kanzashi, obis (I have a couple of orange ones that go great with this kimono!), and purses/bags that I'll be listing as I get to them.
