Japanese Tote Bag Purse Fabric Kyoto Summer Festival

This bag is made from Japanese fabric with lots of little festival shirts/coats on it. Each design symbolizes something and has the kanji of different families or teams/groups on them. It has a really interesting basket style woven fabric around the edge and bottom. It snaps closed and has a slip in pocket inside. The outside is cotton, the typical fabric for summer festival outfits and the inside is lined in black. The bag measures 8" x 6" x 1" and has beads and clips where the strap attaches that are unique to this bag. Please excuse my little tanuki and sake cup as I needed them to set the bag up for pictures! It comes with a removable purse charm of a black tassel with a string of wood beads with metal floral caps. When last in Kyoto a shop was closing not too far from Nishiki market. The person who made the purses has long retired and they were selling off what was left. I picked up several purses (more than 50 actually- oops) because the craftmanship was incredible (check out my shop if you want to see more!). The pictures don't do it justice. The kitty chopstick rest is not included (although if you really want it let me know)- it's cute and I used it for size. I brought back lots of items from Japan on my last trip (two checked bags each x 3 people... it was something) and I have lots more kimonos, kanzashi, obis (I have a couple of orange ones that go great with this kimono!), and purses/bags that I'll be listing as I get to them.
