Mitsukoshi Kuratomesode Women's Kimono from Japan Gold Embroidery

This is an absolutely luxurious kimono made by Mitsukoshi brand. It is a silk tomasode with 5 family crests (kamon) of Mitsu-Myoga (ginger shoots). The eba-moyo design at the bottom has so much gold embroidery on the flowers and wraps around the garment and one the inside. This tomasode It measures 23" from under one arm to the other across the back and 62" long. It is in excellent vintage condition. The thicker white silk lining is only present on the edges of the opening and sleeves to give the illusion of a full underlayer without adding significant bulk. It is a luxurious fabric. I've left many of the stay stitches, particularly found in the lining. Just let me know if you'd like them removed and I'm happy to do so. The obi is listed separately. I purchased this in Kyoto at Toji Temple from one of my favorite sellers because he has a good eye for selling kimonos that are in great condition (and he knows what I love and sometimes sets it aside). I often buy kimonos for the fabric and make it into something else but this is just in too good of condition. I brought back lots of items from Japan on my last trip (two checked bags each x 3 people... it was something) and I have lots more kimonos, kanzashi, obis and purses/bags that I'll be listing as I get to them.
